How to Export Your ChatGPT Conversations

If you want to search or organize old ChatGPT conversations, the first step is downloading your official ChatGPT data export. ChatParse AI is designed to work with the conversations.json file from that export.

Step-by-step

1. Open ChatGPT in your browser.
2. Open Settings.
3. Go to Data Controls.
4. Choose Export data.
5. Confirm the export request.
6. Wait for the export email from OpenAI.
7. Download and unzip the export.
8. Find conversations.json.
9. Upload that file to ChatParse AI.

Which file should you upload?

Use conversations.json. Avoid uploading the whole zip unless the app specifically asks for it.
